Connecting Diversity: Paradoxes of Multicultural Australia

A major SBS-commissioned report into multicultralism in Australia was just released last week (report here; here is the ‘high-lights reel’ media release). There were four researchers on the project, including one of my supervisors, Greg Noble, and founding director of our research centre, Ien Ang.

Greg participated in a SBS studio discussion regarding the project. The studio discussion is tentatively set for broadcast on 29 April (with possible repeats on 3 and 7 May). According to an email from our new director David Row:

“It involved an hour long discussion with studio audience (hosted by Anton Enus) featuring Greg and another co-author, Jeff Brand. Ien, of course, is in Philadelphia, and there was no live cross by satellite, but Greg performed as if he was born in a TV studio, and did a great job of presenting the findings in a thoughtful, accessible way.”

So check it out! SBS will more than likely have media content online after the broadcast, so I’ll post a link to that when it does become available.
